1:08 p.m. R2 3 With A Vengeance (2 c Exceed And Excel – Eleusa) – Craig Grylls; he positioned outside the leader, took the advantage at the 300m, and sustained a strong gallop to win a trial (Soft5) on 9 September at Ellerslie. Prior to this, he let down nicely to win another trial (Heavy8) on 5 August at Te Rapa. Debuting in the $18,500 2YO 1000 metres, he possesses the precocious ability to race handily, but much will depend on how he copes with the conditions. Fixed odds: $2.80 & $1.15.

4:55 p.m. (NZ) ~ 2:55 p.m. (Vic) R4 9 Crismera (3 f Frankel – Dice Game) – Patrick Moloney; she was collared after racing handily and taking the early lead when debuting in the Maiden 1590 metres on 16 September at Wodonga. Contesting the A$42,500 Maiden 1744 metres, she is beautifully bred being by the highest rated sire in the world, Frankel (Galileo), and is out of an unraced mare by Champion Sire Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway).
