Waverley:

Weather: fine, track: Soft5, rail: out 1 metre 950m – 800m, remainder true. No rain forecast.

5:12 p.m. R6 1 Legally Binding (4 g Exceedance – Legal Eagle) – Hayley Hassman (a2); he was unable to quicken after trailing from barrier one when resuming in the Rating 75 1200 metres on 28 February at Matamata, and contests the $25,000 Rating 75 1200 metres. He has notched up three wins and two seconds from nine starts, has won this grade and distance previously, has the plus of weight relief to 57.5kg, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to improve. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $1.75.

Caulfield:

Weather: fine, track: Good4, rail: true. No rain forecast.

9:45 p.m. (NZ time) R4 3 Lyrics ‘N’ Song (3 f Written Tycoon – Melody Belle) – Logan Bates (a1.5); she travelled between runners in fifth, camped on the leaders turning for home, and closed strongly for third once clear when resuming in the Benchmark 64 3YO 1200 metres on 27 February at Cranbourne, with Bates aboard then too. Contesting the A$55,000 Benchmark 66 3YO 1500 metres, she has been good in all four starts, including a win and finishing third in Listed Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m). The first foal out of our star mare, she rates a top three chance from barrier one. TAB fixed odds: $2.90 & $1.30.
