Te Akau Trans-Tasman Midweek Preview

Te Akau Racing has one horse entered on Wednesday 16 October at Pukekohe, and one at Caulfield, Melbourne.?

Pukekohe:

Weather: cloudy, track: Heavy10, rail: out 7 metres. No rain forecast.

12:36 p.m. R2 4 Matakana Girl (4 m Ace High – Bankside Belle) – Vinnie Colgan; she received a nice trip and sustained a strong performance to win a trial on 8 October at Matamata, given Heavy10 footing, and resumes in the $25,000 Maiden 1200 metres. She raced well during her first campaign as a three-year-old, possess the ability to act fresh, would likely appreciate improved footing but nonetheless is capable of a bold showing on the strength of her trial win. Fixed odds: $14.00 & $3.60.

Caulfield:

Weather: fine, track: Good4, rail: out 12 metres. 4mls rain forecast Tuesday and Wednesday.

5:25 p.m. (NZ) ~ 3:25 p.m. (Vic) R4 5 Veomas (2 c I Am Invincible – Midnight Revels) – Michael Dee; he finished strongly when getting to the outside of runners to win a jump out (trial) on 26 September at Flemington, and debuts in the Listed A$175,000 Magic Millions Debutante Stakes 1000m. While there are a lot of unknown variables in this big field of first starters, he looked good winning his jump out, is ideally drawn (4) and has the in-form former Te Akau NZ apprentice, now senior rider engaged. NZ TAB fixed odds: $3.80 & $1.70.
