Te Akau Trans Tasman Thursday Preview

Te Akau Racing has one horse entered on Thursday 20 May at Hastings, New Zealand, and one horse entered at Seymour, Victoria.

Hastings:

Weather: fine, track: Heavy8, rail: true. No rain forecast.

2:04 p.m. R4 1 Centurial (3 g Savabeel – Purcentage) – Masa Hashizume; he found the line for fifth following good trip in the Maiden 2YO & 3YO 1400 metres on 27 April at Ellerslie, and contests the $17,000 Maiden 2YO & Up 1200 metres. He finished strongly for second on Heavy8 footing at his previous start on 1 April at Pukekohe, and is racing well. His dam Purcentage (Onemorenomore) won over 1200 metres, and rates a top three chance. Fixed odds: $3.20 & $1.45.

Seymour:

Weather: fine, track: Heavy8, rail: out 7 metres. No rain forecast.

3:00 p.m. (NZ) - 1:00 p.m. (Vic) R1 4 Naval Command (2 c Home Affairs – Sea Siren) – Luke Currie; he finished well for second in a jump out on 27 April at Cranbourne, and debuts in the A$42,500 Maiden 2YO 1200 metres. From first crop of Champion 3YO Home Affairs (I Am Invincible), who leads the Australian First Season Sires’ List, Naval Command is out of triple Group One winning sprinter Sea Siren (Fastnet Rock). While it is hard to assess his chances in a field of debutantes, he has trialled well and has drawn well enough in barrier seven.
