Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Thursday 11 September at Riccarton (poly-track) in New Zealand and three horses entered at Seymour, Victoria.
Riccarton:
Weather: fine, track: poly-track, rail: true. No rain forecast.
2:05 p.m. R3 5 Court Of Appeal (5 m Eminent – Katy O’Beel) – Bruno Queiroz; she remained back after missing the start but held her ground in a trial on 19 August at Ashburton, and resumes in the $18,500 Rating 75 1600 metres. She won easily second-up over 1800 metres last season, has ability, and is capable of an encouraging performance if appreciative of the poly-track at her first attempt. Fixed odds: $3.90 & $1.40.
3:50 p.m. R6 6 Celtic Bling (4 m Embellish – Niamh Elizabeth) – Bruno Queiroz; she quickened appreciably with well-timed run to win the Maiden 1400 metres here (poly-track) on 21 August, and contests the $18,500 Rating 65 1400 metres. She has won and placed in three of her five starts on the (synthetic) course, and rates a top three chance from barrier five. Fixed odds: $3.80 & $1.65.
Seymour:
Weather: fine, track: Soft6, rail: out 8 metres. No rain forecast.
4:00 p.m. (NZ) ~ 2:00 p.m. (Vic) R2 9 Azazel (3 g Shocking – Alagant Angel) – Michael Dee; he raced clear to win a 1400-metre jump out on 1 September at Cranbourne, and debuts in the A$42,500 Maiden 1600 metres. By Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) and Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) winner and proven sire Shocking (Street Cry), from Tavistock (Montjeu) mare, in turn out of impressive Group winning miler Alagant Satin (Al Akbar). He has fitness on his side to race well, but requires luck from a difficult draw (13). NZ TAB fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.05.
5:00 p.m. (NZ) ~ 3:00 p.m. R4 14 Seven Oceans (3 f Flying Artie – With Purpose) – Michael Dee; she did well for second after racing wide in her sole start as two-year-old, has been freshened, and sustained a strong finish from last to finish second in jump out on 1 September at Cranbourne. Resuming in the A$42,500 Maiden 1200 metres, dam With Purpose (Pierro) won four races to 1300 metres and had two to race, both sprint winners, and drawn (6) to rate top three chance. NZ TAB fixed odds: $1.95 & $1.00.
6:00 p.m. (NZ time) R6 12 Adelante (4 m Swiss Ace – Progression, by All Too Hard) – Michael Dee; she continued good form with strong second, after trailing, in the Benchmark 58 1212 metres on 22 August at Geelong, and contests the A$35,000 Benchmark 62 1200 metres. She rates a top three chance from barrier seven. NZ TAB fixed odds: $5.50 & $1.70.
