Te Akau Trans Tasman Tuesday Preview
10 June, 2025
Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Tuesday 10 June at Timaru in new Zealand, and one horse entered at Seymour in Victoria.
Timaru:
Weather: overcast, track: Heavy10, rail: true. No rain forecast.
12:50 p.m. R5 5 Celtic Bling (3 f Embellish – Niamh Elizabeth) – Hayley Hassman (a3); she ran home strongly for second in the $17,000 Maiden 2YO & Up 1200 metres on 29 May at Riccarton (poly-track), and contests the corresponding event. Her dam Niamh Elizabeth (Per Incanto) won on heavy ground and she harks from a family that has acted on yielding footing. She too has the advantage of the apprentice claim to 53.5kg, she is racing well, and rates a top chance to break through if she can cope with the going. Fixed odds: $3.60 & $1.60.
2:46 p.m. R8 6 Our Milly Bee (5 m Merchant Navy – Rina Bettina) – Hayley Hassman (a3); she remained back but ran home fine nonetheless when resuming in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 15 May at Riccarton (poly-track). Contesting the $17,000 Rating 65 1600 metres, the stable apprentice aboard sees her drop to 54kg, she is a dual course winner, including over 1600 metres, and she has placed three times from five starts on heavy ground. Fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.35.
Seymour:
Weather: showers, track: Soft7, rail: out 7 metres. No rain forecast.
3:30 p.m. (NZ) ~ 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R4 6 Rasp (3 g Street Boss – Manicure) – Daniel Moor; he finished strongly for second after being ridden patiently in a jump out on 2 June at Cranbourne, and is having his first start for the stable in the A$27,000 Maiden 1200 metres. He finished fourth in Listed race over 1600 metres, and seems destined for further - he also has copped a very tricky gate (11). NZ TAB fixed: $4.00 & $1.65.
