Te Akau Trentham Preview

Te Akau NZ trainer Jason Bridgman has two horses entered for bids at black type on the final day of the Wellington Cup Carnival on Saturday 24 January 2015.

As at Thursday 22 January, the weather is fine, track is rated a Dead4 after irrigation all week and the rail is out 1m.

2:45pm R5 4 Vive La Difference - Matthew Cameron; unlucky in her last start when strong on the bridle, she ran into a dead end behind a wall of horses in the last 200m at Tauranga, a Rating 65 event over 1300m. Stepping up in distance, she has drawn well in a field that is very even outside of Group 1 NZ 1000 Guineas' winner Platinum Witness and is a contender in making a bid for black type against her own age group.

3:53pm R7 15 Abidewithme - Matthew Cameron; back in distance after being forced wide out of the turn on Boxing Day in the Group 1 Zabeel Classic over 2000m. The wide barrier will see her back in the running and under a feather-light 53.5kg, she will take advantage of the long straight to storm home late in a bid to win another stakes' race on the course.  her previous success at Trentham also came over 1600m when taking the 2014 running of the Listed Anniversary Handicap.
