Te Akau trialled horses on Thursday June 19 at Avondale
The footing was rated Slow7 and the rail out 14 metres.
Heat 9 2YO 800 metres (4 lengths, 2 ½ lengths 49.3)
2 f Tavistock - Macchiato - Matt Cameron; having her first trial, jumped away nicely to settle one off in midfield, tracked favourably around the home turn and ran home holding her position.
Heat 14 2YO 1000 metres (1 ¼ lengths, ¾ lengths 1:03.5)
Jimmy Rea (2 g Thewayyouare - Maureen Terese) - Matt Cameron; was allowed to find his feet from an outside gate, settling back of midfield. He worked through his gears in the straight, without a lot urging, running home strongly for a stylish win. He has now had to trials for two wins.
Heat 15 2YO 1000 metres (¾ lengths, ¾ lengths 1:03.9)
Skyscraper (2 g Manhattan Rain - Grand Performance) - Daniel Miller; having his first trial, he was allowed to find his feet off the pace and ran home nicely on the inner part of the track, in the worst of the going, for third. And he galloped out strongly after the line.
