Te Akau Trials' Update

Te Akau trialled horses on Tuesday July 8 at Te Awamutu.

The footing was rated Heavy10 and the rail out 9 metres.

Heat 4 2YO 850 metres (short neck, 2 ½ lengths 55.71)

Sequitur (2 c High Chaparral - Deduction) - Matt Cameron; was steadied to trail after beginning swiftly. He held his ground in the straight, in the worst of the going on the inside, to finish fourth in what was an ideal educational first outing (pictured last week).

Heat 7 2YO 850 metres (1 ½ lengths, neck 54.4)

Deluge (2 g Guillotine - Flood) - Matt Cameron; jumped away cleanly before steadying to settle fourth on the outer. He dipped and dived a bit when drawn wide on straightening and it was a nice enough effort to finish fourth, given he clearly needs better going.

Heat 8 2YO 850 metres (nose, 1 length 54.8)

2 f Savabeel - Trocair - Matt Cameron; jumped away well before settling behind runners and brought wide in search of better going she made ground for fourth, in what was a very nice first outing.
