Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 26 January -

Plough:

Chambord (Miller) and Smashing (K. Jones) ran 1000m in 1:04, last 600m in 34.7, which was excellent work. Both are preparing to race on Saturday: Chambord (Zabeel) at Matamata, and Smashing (Pins) at Trentham.

Arpeggio (McNab) went 1000m in 1:07, last 600m in 37. Unbeaten in both starts this time in, Arpeggio (Tavistock) contests the Rating 85 1300 metres at Matamata.

Heroic Valour (Cameron) and Sassy'n'smart (McNab) each worked very well over 1000m in 1:05, last 600m in 36.5. Unbeaten two-year-old stakes winner Sassy'n'smart (Smart Missile) resumes on Saturday at Trentham, and two-year-old Fastnet Rock colt Heroic Valour makes his debut at Matamata.

Duchess Kate (Cameron) and Silverdale (McNab) went 1200m in 1:18, last 600m in 35.8. Last start winner Duchess Kate (Savabeel) contests the $70,000 Desert Gold Stakes (Gr. 3, 1600m) on Saturday at Trentham, and Silverdale (Castledale) the Open 1600m on Saturday at Matamata.

Zambezi Warrior (Ritchie) went 1200m in 1:23, going comfortably.

Cabaret (Lammas) ran 1000m in 1:02.5, last 600m in 35 - good work for a maiden.

Special Memories (Miller) ran an easy 1200m in 1:22, last 600m in 37.6.

Linchpin (McNab) and 2 c Swiss Ace - Intelligentsia (Ritchie) ran an easy 600m in 41.
