Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 2 February -
Fog prevented some timing.
Plough:
Preparing to race on Saturday at Te Rapa, Bordeaux (Ritchie) and Scrutinize (Miller) worked together over 1400m. They ran the 1200m in 1:15.5, last 600m in 35.5, looking very good. Scrutinize (Savabeel) will wear blinkers in the $100,000 Darci Brahma Waikato Guineas (Gr. 2, 2000m) and last start course winner Bordeaux (High Chaparral) remains in the same grade to contest the $22,500 Rating 75 2100 metres.
Latin Rose (Fawcett) and Vive La Difference (K. Jones) ran 1200m in 1:23, last 600m in 39.3, both pleasing in their work. Back-to-back course winner Latin Rose (Mastercraftsman) is gunning for a hat-trick in the Rating 75 1400 metres tomorrow at Hastings, and Vive La Difference (Choisir) races on Friday in the Rating 85 1818 metres at New Plymouth.
Osmunda (Coleman) and Tavis Star (K. Jones) worked over 1400m, running the 1200m in 1:23. Both are nominated for the Rating 65 1818 metres at New Plymouth.
Abloom (Hanafi) and Alrina (Fawcett) ran an easy 800m, last 600m in 42. Cabaret (Lammas) and Forty Winks (Miller) did similar work.
Splurge (Richards) was followed in his work by Alert (Shailer), tracked in turn by Esprit De Corp (Ritchie) over 800m.
I See Fire (Lammas) ran 1000m in 1:14.
Carmenize (Fawcett - main picture) and 3 g Per Incanto - Flying Florence (Hanafi) ran an easy 800m in 51.2, last 600m in 37.3.
2 f Murtajill - Forbetterforworse (Lammas - below left) and 2 f Savabeel - Catalina (Miller - below right) ran 800m in 56.5, last 600m in 41.9.
2 g Darci Brahma - San Souci (Lammas - below right) and 2 g Saperavi - A La Votre (Fawcett - below left) worked together over 800m in 58, last 600m in 43.
Lady Masako (Miller) and 3 f Captain Rio - Capital Gold (Pinn) ran an easy 600m in 46.

Preparing to race on Saturday at Wingatui, Princess Davone (Belsham) and Sir Darci (Gerard) worked together over 1200 metres in 1:23, last 600m in 37.5. Princess Davone (Iffraaj) has been nominated for the $50,000 Dunedin Guineas (Listed, 1400m) and Sir Darci (Darci Brahma) the $25,000 Rating 75 1400 metres.
