Course proper (Slow):

Our top quality two year olds Heroic Valour (Miller) and Sassy ‘N' Smart (Cameron - pictured) worked together on the grass over 1000 metres in preparation for the Gr. 1 $225,000 Manawatu Sires' Produce (2yo 1400m) on Saturday at Awapuni. Both looking outstanding in their work, they covered the 1000 metres in 1.05, their last 600 in 37. Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock) will be partnered by Jonathan Riddell again on Saturday, following a terrific win for the combination in the Gr. 1 $ 200,000 Sistema Diamond Stakes (2yo 1200) at Ellerslie earlier in the month. Matt Cameron will stick with Sassy ‘N' Smart (Smart Missile) as they are on the hunt for Group 1 honours.

Last season's Listed Castletown Stakes' winner Stella Di Paco (Lammas) and Tatters (Coleman) went 1000 in 1.08.5, their last 600 in 39.3.
