Te Akau trackwork highlights - Tuesday 19 April -

Fog prevented some timing earlier in the morning.

Grass: 

Zambezi Warrior (Cameron) worked over 1200m in 1.21.1 and his last 600m in 39.9. Zambezi Warrior (Pentire) won his last start at Avondale very impressively and is now eyeing up the Gr. 2 $100,000 Championship Stakes for the 3 year olds over 2100m at Ellerslie on 23 April.

Sand:

Showcasing filly It's Our Showtime (Miller) prepared for her fresh up assignment at Avondale on 25 April with a lovely piece of work over 1000m. She looks a picture ahead of targeting the Maiden 1200m event.  Chambord (Leveque) covered 1200m and looks ready to make a return to winning form, with a few nice placings this preparation.  He is earmarked for the Open 1600m event at Awapuni next Monday.

Esprit De Corps (K. Hillis) worked over 1000m, his last 800m in 58 and final 600m in 39.7. Progressive staying horse Cathedral Cove (Richards) and Rocksun (Cameron) galloped over 1200m in 1.30, last 600m in 40. Cathedral Cove (Zabeel) looks to go one better at Woodville on Thursday in the Rating 65 2100m, after flying home at his last start at Awapuni to be beaten a nose behind stable mate Echezeaux. Fastnet Rock gelding, Rocksun looks set to run at Avondale next Monday in the Maiden 1600m, where the step up in distance will be ideal for him.

Kiusan (Leveque) in the company of Lady Jasmine (Fawcett) worked over 800m, their last 600m in 41. Kiusan (Choisir) and Lady Jasmine (Darci Brahma) will join the large Te Akau team to head to the Te Teko Trials on 26 April. Per Incanto filly Niamh Elizabeth (Miller) covered 1000m in 1.11, her final 600m in 40. I See Fire (M. Grylls) worked over ground, her last 1200m in 1.22.8, last 600m in 39.6. Third at her last start, I See Fire (Encosta De Lago) heads to Avondale on Monday for the Maiden 2100m race.

2f Mastercraftsman - Lynisky (Fawcett) worked on terms over 1000m with Cabaret (Noorman) in 1.07.8, the pair completed their final 600m in 39.4. Spritz (Coleman) went 1000m in 1.07.7, her final 600m in 39.3. 2f Redoute's Choice - Scarlett Lady (M. Grylls) and Winehouse (Leveque) ran 59 for the 800m, last 600m in 43.

Both on track for trialling at Te Teko on 26 April, 3f Captain Rio - Capital Gold (Pinn) and Elegant D'Oro (K. Hillis) worked over 800m in 56, their last 600m in 38.4. Darci Brahma mare Our Drahma Queen (Leveque) worked over 1000m in 1.15, her last 600 in 45. Play For Time (Leveque) and 3f Alamosa - Popsy (Lammas) covered 600m in 42.
