Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 25 October -
Matamata - Plough:
Vive La Difference (Bourke) and Foreigner (Richards) ran 1000 metres in 1.07, last 600 in 37. Both appeared to be working strongly as they prepare for the Ellerslie meeting on Melbourne Cup Day. Vive La Difference (Choisir) will resume in the Rating 85 1400 metres and Foreigner (Savabeel) will start in the Maiden 3YO race over 1400 metres.
Lady Amadeus (Cole) ran 800 metres at three-quarter pace as she prepares for the Te Aroha trials on Thursday.
Open class galloper Chambord (McNab) covered 800 metres at three-quarter pace as he begins to pick up the paces ahead of a trial in the next fortnight.
Former Singapore galloper Sebrose (Tan) worked over 800 in 56, last 600 in 40. The 6YO gelding will make his first public appearance on Thursday at the Te Aroha trials.
Beaumarchais (Richards) worked over 1000 metres in 1.12.2, last 600 in 42. After a last start third at Ruakaka, the Savabeel gelding heads to Avondale on 2 November for the Maiden 1400 metre race.
Royal Success (McNab) preparing for his return, worked over 800 metres at three-quarter pace. The winner of three races from four starts will trial at Te Aroha on Thursday.
Winehouse (Lammas) and Pure Savalina (Fawcett) ran 800 metres in 50, running their last 600 in 36.5.
Fastnet Fire (K. Price) and Grazia (Fawcett) ran 1000 metres in 1.12, last 600 in 43.
Smashing (Cole) appears to be in good order this preparation, she worked over 800 in 59.
Primrose (Tan) worked with Lady Painton (Winter) over 1000 metres, running their last 600 metres in 41.
Echezeaux (Leveque) looked good working on her own over 1000 metres.
Shocking Luck (McNab) worked keenly over 1000 metres in 1.12, last 600 in 42.
Kuia (Fawcett), Exhibition (McNab) and Kiusan (M. Grylls) worked over 800 metres in 50, last 600 in 37.5.
All-weather:
2f Burgundy - Ensorcelez (Fawcett), 2f Not A Single Doubt - Ban The Recorder (Tan) and Gold Fever (Leveque) worked over 600 metres in 42.5.
Miss Scandinavia (Leveque) worked with 2f Burgundy - Squall over 600 metres as they prepare for their first trials on Thursday, October 27, at Te Aroha.
Riccarton - course proper:
Last start winner Imperium (Miller) worked over 1000 metres in 1.14.4.
Heroic Valour (Miller) ran 1000 metres in 1.14.5.
Flemington:
Shillelagh (K. Jones) worked with the Benner/Wynard trained Humidor over 1000 metres in 1.03, last 600 in 36. She remains on track for the Group Three Fillies & Mares race over 1400 metres on Melbourne Cup day, where Hong Kong's leading jockey Joao Moreira has been booked for the ride.
