Ahead of the Counties Cup (Gr. 3, 2100m) on Saturday at Pukekohe, Thrive (Myers) worked in pleasing fashion over a mile, running 1400 metres in 1:34, with the last 600m in 36.7.

Scheduled to race at Pukekohe, or a day earlier at New Plymouth, Longbeach (Hercock) was partnered by Hardcore Rock (Cameron) who treks south for the meeting on Saturday at Awapuni. They clocked 1:18 for the 1200 metres, home in 36.1 for the last 600m in solid work.

Earmarked to start over a mile at Awapuni, Exabelle (Dee) and Milan Miss (Myers), scheduled for the Benchmark 65 2100 metres on Friday at New Plymouth, went over 1400 metres, the 1200m in 1:19.2 and final 600m in 36.7.

Preparing for the Murdoch Newell Stakes (Listed, 1100m) on Saturday at Pukekohe, two-year-old filly Flaming (Hercock) and 3 f Zabeel - Thistle Cove (Dee) clocked 1:04 for the 1000 metres, last 600m in 36.6.

At three-quarter pace from the 1400 metres, Prospero (Cameron) breezed up the straight in readiness for the Benchmark 85 2400 metres at Pukekohe.
