Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 14 March -
Course Proper (Heavy):
Smashing (Lammas) looked good working with Sassy ‘N' Smart (Leveque) worked over 1000 metres in 1.08, last 600 in 38.9. Both are set to head to Trentham on Saturday, Smashing (Pins) will look to improve on her third placing last year in the Listed Lightning Handicap and Sassy ‘N' Smart (Smart Missile) will line up in the Group Two Wellington Guineas over 1400 metres.
Royal Success (C. Grylls) worked with Alamosa Express (McNab) over 1000 metres in 1.09.1, last 600 in 39.2. Royal Success (Savabeel) will be nominated for both the Te Rapa and Trentham meetings on Saturday and head to the track with the most cut of it, while Alamosa Express (Alamosa) will start at Te Aroha on Friday, providing the track improves.
Dame Margo Fonteyn (Fawcett) and Fashionably (Lammas) both looked impressive, working over 1200 metres in 1.18.7, last 600 in 38.7. Johnathan Parkes has been engaged to ride Dame Margo Fonteyn (High Chaparral) while Cameron Lammas will ride Fashionably (Redoute's Choice).
Heart Of Courage (Miller) and Kingsman (McNab) covered 800 metes in 57.2, last 600 in 41.9. Heart Of Courage (Fastnet Rock) will look to follow in his full-brother Heroic Valour footsteps and win at Trentham on debut when he heads there for the 2YO 1200 metre event on Saturday. Kingsman (Darci Brahma) will also head there for the Group Two Wellington Guineas over 1400 metres.
No.2 Sand:
Our Abbadean (K. Jones) went with Astrid (Fawcett) over 1000 metres in 1.04.5, last 600 in 37. Our Abbadean (Lookin' At Lucky) heads to Saturday's Group Three Cuddles Stakes, while Astrid (Pins) steps back to Rating 75 grade at Te Rapa.
Tatters (M. Grylls) worked with Wide Awake (Leveque) over 1000 metres in 1.03.3, last 600 in 36.4. Both head to Saturday's meeting at Te Rapa, where they will contest the Rating 65 1600 metre event.
Zambezi Warrior (Pinn) looked good working over 1000 metres at three-quarter pace in 1.01, last 600 in 45.5.
Smoke House Bay (Leveque) and More Than Fast (Tan) both pleased their riders when working over 1000 metres at three-quarter pace.
Impressive Rotorua trials winner Pacific Coast (McNab) worked in company with Jet Set (Miller) over 800 metres at three-quarter pace, both looked to be enjoying their work.
O'Know (Fawcett) and O'Naturelle (M. Grylls) worked over 800 metres in 54, last 600 in 38.6.
2f Not A Single Doubt - Ban The Recorder (Fawcett) worked alongside another impressive Rotorua trialist Miss Scandinavia (M. Grylls) over 800 metres in 1.01, last 600 in 44.7.
Niamh Elizabeth (Leveque) and 3f Mastercraftsman - Gardd (Tan) hit the line on terms at the end of 800 metres at three-quarter pace.
All-Weather:
2f Burgundy - Margo (Cole) produced nice work working over 800 metres while Echezeaux (Leveque) worked over 1000 metres in 1.12.5, last 600 in 43.5.
Lady Masako (K. Price) and (Rika) covered 800 metres in 54.2, last 600 in 40.2.
2g Darci Brahma - Rihanna (Cole) and 2f Roc Da Cambes - Sweet Torque (Lammas) matched strides over 800 metres.
Inspire Me (Rika) and Poppin' Bubbles (K. Price) covered 600 metres in 39.5.
Aquilo (Miller) and Grandeur (Lammas) worked over 800 metres in 56, last 600 in 40.
2f Burgundy - Trove (K. Price) and 2f Fastnet Rock - Forest Native (Fawcett) weren't after time working over 600 metres at three-quarter pace.
Embellish (Miller) and Age Of Fire (McNab) enjoyed their work over 800 metres in 1.01, last 600 in 44.7.
Play For Time (Rika) went an easy 800 metres at three-quarter pace as she builds her fitness levels.
2g Pour Moi - Villa Wanda (Pinn), 2g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicilia (Fawcett) and 2c Azamour - Franny (Miller) worked over 600 metres in 39.4.
Cloudburst (McNab) impressed co-trainer Stephen Autridge working with 2g Ocean Park - Queen Rania (Fawcett) over 600 metres in 43.
