Gearing up for their respective assignments in the Eight Carat Classic (Gr. 2, 1600m) and Great Northern Guineas (Gr. 2, 1600m) on Boxing Day at Ellerslie, Costa Viva (Myers) and Chambord (Hercock) worked over 1400 metres to clock the 1200m in 1:17.8, last 600 in 34.7.

Also eyeing the Great Northern Guineas, All Decked Out (Hercock) and Aspen (Myers) did similar work with the 1200 metres in 1:14.9, last 600m in 35.2.

The winner of two from three, Flirty Gertey (Hercock) worked with stakes winning mare Abidewithme (Dee) over 1200 metres in 1:15.6, last 600m in 36.1. Both last start winners at Ellerslie, Flirty Gertey is preparing for the Eight Carat Classic (Gr. 2, 1600m) and Abidewithme the Benchmark 85 1400 metres on the same day.

Looking to resume on the middle day at Ellerslie, Dec. 28, Sir Darci (Hercock) and Stanica Star (Dee), seeking back-to-back wins at New Plymouth, on Dec. 23, worked over 1400 metres in 1:27.4, last 600m 37. 

Preparing to race on Saturday at Awapuni, Enhance (Dee) and the winner of three from three O'Darci (Hercock) covered 1200 metres in 1:16.7, last 600m in 35.4. O'Darci could be seen early in the New Year, Jan. 5, at Otaki.
