Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 20 February -

Course Proper:

Avantage (Tan) galloped solo over 1000 metres in 1.10, home in 41. Looking good in her work, she builds toward racing in the Group 1 Sistema Stakes at Ellerslie on 10 March.

Imperium (Burdan) and Wide Awake (Tan) galloped 1200 metres in 1.20.1, last 600 in 38.7. Imperium is scheduled to race at Matamata on Saturday and Wide Awake is due to race at the Otaki meeting to be held at Hastings, also on Saturday.

Preparing for the Group 1 Haunui Farm WFA Classic at Hastings on Saturday, Splurge (McNab) worked over 1000 metres in 1.16, running home in 37.

Working on the rail, The Real Beel (McNab) and Handsome Rebel (Newman) looked good galloping 1000 metres in 1.01, home in 36. Sword Of Osman (Bakar) followed in behind and looked strong doing so. The Real Beel has been nominated for the Group 2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes (won last year by Gold Fever) and both Handsome Rebel and Sword Of Osman have been nominated for the Group 3 Matamata Slipper for 2YO colts and geldings.

Also preparing to race at Matamata on Saturday, Age Of Fire (McNab) and Lady Painton (Newman) galloped 1000 metres in 1.06.7, home in 37.1.

Another pair for our home meeting - Scrutinize (Bakar) and Our Abbadean (McNab) galloped 1200 metres in 1.18, last 600 in 38.

Pacific Coast (McNab) and Fabulous Flight (Tan) galloped an easy 800 metres in 54, last 600 in 39.

Inspire Me (Leveque) worked at three quarter pace over 800 metres, running the last 600 in 45.5. She was followed by Tiffany's Time (Newman) who ran similar time.

Royal Success (McNab) worked along nicely at three quarter pace over 1000 metres in 1.16, home in 45.

Beau Geste (K Price) looked good working at three quarter pace over 1200 metres, running the last 600 in 44. Swing Note (K Price - main picture) also worked over 1200 metres, running the last 600 in similar time. Beau Geste is nominated for the Maiden 1900 metres at Wairoa on Thursday while Swing Note prepares for the Group 3 Little Avondale Lowland Stakes at Hastings on 1 March.

Readying to debut at Wairoa on Thursday, Qian Gua (Leveque) worked at three quarter pace over 1000 metres, running the last 600 in 44.5.

Encore Encore (Newman) and Byzantine (McNab) paired up to gallop 600 metres in 37.3.

2f Ekraar - Fiveundred (K Price) and Lady Of Camelot (Alam), 2f Burgundy - Trove (Tan) and So You Said (Leveque), Ritzy Sparkle (Newman) and 2f Burgundy - Spin 'N Grin (Tan) worked in pairs at three quarter pace over 600 metres in 45.2.

Our Flying Ace (Tan) and Military Power (Leveque) worked nicely at three quarter pace over 600 metres in 44.5.

2f Savabeel - Tell No Lies (Tan) and 2f Savabeel - Ampin (Leveque) looked good working over 600 metres in 46.

Twilight Zone (Newman), 2g Savabeel - La Belle Epoque (Burdan) and Platonica (Bakar) all looked good working over 600 metres.
