Te Akau Tuesday Trackwork

Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday August 12 -

Course proper (Heavy):

Spellbinder (Cameron) worked in company over 1000 metres in 1:10.8, last 600m in 39.6. The four-year-old O'Reilly mare will be nominated today for the weight-for-age Lisa Chittick Foxbridge Plate (Gr. 3, 1200m) on Saturday at Te Rapa. A dual stakes' winner and three times stakes placed, with four wins from only eight starts, Spellbinder has a rating of 85 which could see her on the cusp of making the field.

Also preparing for respective assignments at Te Rapa, All Decked Out (Cameron) and Prospero (Hercock) covered 1200 metres in 1:25.7, last 600m in 39.9. All Decked Out (Darci Brahma) would appreciate any improvement in track conditions from the current Slow8, ahead of the Benchmark 75 1400 metres, while the going should suit Prospero (High Chaparral) in the Benchmark 75 2100 metres.

Sand track:

La Adelita (Allen) worked over 1000 metres in 1:11.5, last 600 in 41.4. Dreamer (Samuelsson) went a half mile (800m) in 55.4, last 600m in 41.4.  Costa Viva (Gerard) went solo over 800 metres at three-quarter pace, as did Equanimity (Richards), Clos De Tart (K. Price), Enhance (Hercock), and Chambord (Miller). Longbeach (Miller) worked over 1000 metres, as did Quintette (K. Price), Flirty Gertey (Cameron). Auriol (J. Price) and Seline (K. Price) were partnered over 800 metres at three-quarter pace.

Preparing for the Amateur Riders Benchmark 65 2200 metres on Aug. 23 at Ellerslie, Highly Likely (Cameron) worked over 2000 metres at three-quarter pace. Freshened since winning the corresponding Maiden event in June at Te Aroha, he will again be partnered by Jamie Richards.
