Course proper (slow)

Thrive (Miller) showed to have freshened up nicely since finishing third in the Winter Cup (Gr. 3, 1600m) and contesting the Winter Classic (1800m) a week later during the carnival at Riccarton. Working solo, she came from the 1200 metres in 1:21.3, final 600m in 38.4. It was a smooth gallop from the mare ahead of the Merial Metric Mile (Gr. 3, 1600m) on Sept. 14 at Awapuni.

Hardcore Rock (Cameron) and Sir Darci (Dee) came from the 1000 metres in 1:04.1, final 600m in 37, as they prepared for their respective debut assignments over 1200 metres next Monday, Sept. 9, at Taupo.

Sand track:

Ready to race next Wednesday at Te Rapa, or Thursday at New Plymouth, Sunset Pass (Miller) strode out nicely from the mile marker to cover 1200 metres in 1:23.2, 600m in 39.6.

Trialling next Tuesday at Cambridge, O'Darci (Cameron) ran the 1000 metres in 1:06.7, 600m in 38.6. Peerage (Dee) worked solo from the 1000 metres in 1:06.3, 600m in 38.2.

Trialling on Sept. 24 at Te Teko, Stanica Star (Myers) covered his final 600 metres in 39.

All-weather track:

For the trials at Cambridge, accomplished mares Exabelle (Cameron) and Viana (Dee) ran 1000 metres in 1:04.3, 600m in 36.5. Bronte Lass (Miller) and Sovereign Rose (Dee) came from the 800 metres in 51.2, 600m in 37.2. Longbeach (Cameron) and King Savinsky (Dee), who is scheduled to start on Sept. 19 at Poverty Bay, ran 1000 metres in 1:04.1, 600m 37.

800 metres at three-quarter pace: Dark Damsel (Miller) and 3 g Duke of Marmalade - Frescante (Stack), Persia (Miller) and Stylee (Dee). The Musician (Miller) and 3 f Henrythenavigator - Chasing Mammon (Demir).

600 metres at three-quarter pace: Highly Likely (Miller) and Maestro (Dee), 3 g King's Chapel - Effortlessly (Stack) and Riverenza (Demir), Scandinavian (Miller) and 2 f King's Chapel - Sea Rhythm (Stack), 3 f High Chaparral - Romantic Liaisons (Miller) and 3 g Saperavi - Sweet Dreams Baby (Demir), 3 g Redoute's Choice - Lady's Delight (Stack) and 3 g Lucky Owners - Miss Ivanovic (Dee).
