Course proper (Slow/Heavy):

Preparing for the Easter Handicap (Gr. 1, 1600m) on Saturday at Ellerslie, Spellbinder (Cameron) worked over 1200 metres in 1:24.5, last 600m in 39.6. Good through the line last time out in the Breeders' Stakes (Gr. 1, 1600m) at Te Aroha, Spellbinder (O'Reilly) has included two stakes victories (Soliloquy and Karaka Mile) amongst three of her five wins on the right-handed course and the likelihood of give in the ground is ideal.

Costa Viva (Hercock) worked solo over 1000m in 1:11.4, last 600m in 39.8. After finishing second fresh up at Te Aroha, Costa Viva (Encosta De Lago) is set to contest the City of Napier Sprint (Listed, 1200m) on Saturday at Hastings. Scheduled for the same race, Angelica Hall (Lammas) worked over 1000m in 1:08.8, last 600m in 38.2. Angelica Hall (Guillotine) put in a terrific performance last start for second to Vespa (Elusive City) in the Flying Handicap (Listed, 1400m) at Awapuni.

Flirty Gertey (Schistl) went 1000m in 1:11.5, last 600m in 40.7.

Osmunda (Miller) worked post to post at three-quarter pace. Frock (Cameron) did similar work over 1600m.
