Course proper (dead/slow)
Preparing for the Gold Trail Stakes (Gr. 3, 1200m) on Saturday at Hastings, debut winner Costa Viva (Cameron) worked with Sir Darci (Stack), who races on Sunday at Gisborne, over 1000 metres in 1:05, last 600m in 37.3. Trainer Jason Bridgman was happy with the gallop.
Two well performed mares: Abidewithme (Stack) and Bronte Lass (Miller) worked from the 1000 metres in 1:08.9, last 600m in 39.3, ahead of trialling on Tuesday Sept. 24 at Te Teko.
Also trialling at Te Teko, Longbeach (Cameron) and Peerage (Dee) came from the 1000 metres 1:06.6, last 600m in 39.4. Persia (Miller) and Stanica Star (Stack) covered the 1000 metres in 1:08.2, last 600m in 39.2.
Gisborne entrant Exabelle (Dee) and Viana (Cameron), who races on Saturday at Riccarton, worked over 1200 metres in 1:20.2, last 600m in 39.4.
800 metres three-quarter pace on the sand track:
Preparing to race in the Benchmark 65 1600 metres on Sept. 27 at Te Aroha, Milan Miss (Cameron) worked at three-quarter pace over 1200 metres. Scheduled to debut at the same meeting, Jewel's Gift (Cameron) and Osmunda (Dee) worked at three-quarter pace over 800 metres.
Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m) candidate Ruthless Lady (Stack) worked with Sovereign Rose (Miller). Chambord (Miller) and Wolfwhistle (Myers) went together, Stylee (Donnelly) and 3 g Duke of Marmalade - Frescante (Miller), 3 f High Chaparral - Romantic Liaisons (Miller) and 3 g King's Chapel - Effortlessly (Stack), Highly Likely (Miller), Maestro (Stack) and Riverenza (Donnelly).
600 metres three-quarter pace on the sand track:
3 f Guillotine - Greta Hall (Miller) and 3 f Volksraad - Rapida (Dee) worked together, 4 g Darci Brahma - Royal Rhythm (Dee) and 3 f Zabeel - Thistle Cove (Miller).
