Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 7 July -
Course proper (Slow):
Opulent (Cameron) and Stella Di Paco (Lammas) both worked exceptionally well over 1000 metres in 1:09.8, last 600m in 39.7, and finished full of running.
On Saturday, Opulent (Keeper) returns to the venue of her last start success to contest the Rating 65 1400 metres at Ruakaka, while Castletown Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Stella Di Paco (Paco Boy) will race in the 2YO 1200 metres as a precursor to the $50,000 Ryder Stakes (Listed, 1200m) on July 25 at Otaki. Matt Cameron rides the pair.
Sand track, three-quarter pace:
Splurge (Lammas) worked keenly over 800m. Beacon of Hope (Rastrick) looked good going 800m. Sequitur (Grylls) worked to the clock over 800m, appearing to travel nicely. Xtravagant (Lammas) and 2 g Per Incanto - Flying Florence (Cameron) worked together over 800m. Tatters (Grylls) worked pleasingly over 800m.
Royal Success (Cameron) worked solo over 800m in 1:03, last 600m in 46. He was tracked in his work by Vintage Verdot (Rastrick), and in turn by Court Case (Lammas).
Lady Pinot (Hercock) and Thetruthisoutthere (Miller) looked good working together over 800m. Fastnet Fire (Lammas) and Vive La Difference (Cameron) went 800m in 57, last 600m in 42, with the latter working firmly on the bit.
Duchess Kate (Hercock) and Lady Painton (Miller) covered 800m in 58, last 600m in 42. Red Poppy (Zac-Syed) looked good and worked nicely to time over 800m. Love Triangle (Cameron) and Special Memories (Lammas) worked beautifully together over 800m in 57, last 600m in 43.
2 f Encosta De Lago - Chasing Mammon (Lammas) went nicely in solo work over 800m.
