Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 22 September -
Sand track:
Preparing for the maiden steeplechase on Friday at Te Aroha, Sunset Pass (K. Jones - below) pleased the rider when working over 3500 metres at three-quarter pace, coming the final 600m in 37.

Scrutinize (Cameron) and Xtravagant (K. Jones) covered 1000m in 1:03.8, last 600m in 37.
Our Abbadean (Lammas) and Tatters (Hercock) worked over 1000m in 1:04.3, last 600m in 36, both appeared to be going very well.
Thetruthisoutthere (Hanafi) and Love Actually (Hercock) worked nicely together over 1000m in 1:04.5, last 600m in 36.2.
Amperage (Cameron) and Niamh Elizabeth (Miller) ran 1000m in 1:04, last 600m in 36.7.
Bordeaux (K. Jones) and Rocksun (Cameron) went an easy 800m in 57, as did Show No Emotion (Hanafi) and Sir Darci (Hercock).
Bounteous (Fawcett), Tiffany's Time (Zac-Syed), 2 f Alamosa - Ensorcelez (Hanafi) worked as a trio over 600m easy. Lucy Wyldstyle (Hercock), 2 f Minstrel Court - Paixanito (Hercock) and 2 f Smart Missile - Panorama Ridge (Lammas) did similar work together.
Sand track, three-quarter pace:
Echezeaux (Hercock) was followed by Grazia (K. Price) worked over 800m in 60. Osmunda (Gomas) went 800m, Spritz (Lammas) went 800m, and Star of Greenbeel (Miller) went 1000m.
Il Piu Veloce (R. Jones - pictured below right) and Tavi Star (Gomas - pictured below left) went together over 800m. Latin Rose (Hercock) and 3 f Saperavi - Doyenne (Fawcett) went 800m. Its Our Showtime (K. Jones) went solo over 800m.

2 f High Chaparral - Star Affair (Hercock) and 2 f Mastercraftsman - Lynisky (Zac-Syed) worked together over 600m.
Riccarton:
Flaming (Walsh) worked over 1000m on the course proper and holds a nomination for the Rating 65 1200 metres on Saturday at Wingatui. Assistant trainer Pam Gerard reported Flaming (Bachelor Duke) to be thriving, and the hope is that the track will return to the cusp of dead come race day.
