Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 13 October -

Plough:

Preparing to race this Saturday, Ekraarstatic (Cameron) and Hysteria Lane (Coleman) galloped very well together over 1000m in 1:00, last 600m in 35.5. Second up in her campaign, Ekraarstatic (Ekraar) contests the Rating 85 1600 metres at Otaki. Hysteria Lane (Perfectly Ready) resumes in the Rating 65 1200 metres at Rotorua.

Lady Painton (Miller) and Osmunda (Zac-Syed) worked over 1200m. They ran the 1000m in 1:05, last 600m in 36. Osmunda (O'Reilly) is nominated to resume in the Rating 65 1600 metres on Friday at Tauranga, and recent fifteen-length Maiden winner Lady Painton (Tavistock) contests the Rating 65 1600 metres at Otaki.

Plough, three-quarter pace:

Gearing up to race over 1200 metres on Thursday at Woodville, Niamh Elizabeth (Hercock) and Spritz (Lammas) went 1000m in 1:07, quickening the last 600m in 36.7. Niamh Elizabeth (Per Incanto) boasts two thirds from three starts and Spritz (Thorn Park) makes her debut.

Love Actually (Gomas) went 1000m in 1:10. Carmenize (Fawcett) and Echezeaux (Hercock) worked over 1000m in 1:09, last 600m in 40. Astrid (Hanafi) and Its Our Showtime (Miller) went 1000m in 1:12.

Bounteous (Hercock) and Vinevale (Cameron) went over 800m in 57, last 600m in 41.8.

3 f High Chaparral - Star Affair (Lammas - below left) and 3 f Saperavi - Paraiba (Fawcett - below right) encouraged in their work over 800m in 58.4.

Smashing (K. Jones) went 800m, as did Fas (Price), and 3 f Showcasing - Louders (R. Jones). Il Piu Veloce (Lammas - main picture right) and 3 f Saperavi - Doyenne (Hercock - main picture left) went together over 800m.

All-weather track:

Abloom (Gomas), Tiffany's Time (Zac-Syed) and 2 f Alamosa - Ensorcelez (Hanafi) worked as a trio over 600m at three-quarter pace, as did Lucy Wyldstyle (Hanafi), 2 f Savabeel - Modern Lady (Lammas) and 2 f Minstrel Court - Paixanito (Fawcett).

400m three-quarter pace: 2 f Showcasing - Something Majic (Hanafi) and 2 f Choisir - Mystic Flight (Zac-Syed).

Preparing for the John Griggs Stakes (Listed, 1400m) on Saturday at Ashburton, last start Canterbury Belle Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Windborne (Walsh) worked over 1200m with Bishop Rock (Ritchie) who contests the Maiden 1600 metres. They ran the 1000m in 1:00, last 600m in 37.5.

Runner-up in the Canterbury Belle and also contesting the John Grigg, Princess Davone (Walsh) did similar work and clocked 1:02 and 39.

Sand track, pace work:

Vive La Difference (Gerard) went solo. Special Memories (Gerard) and Risque (Ritchie), first and second respectively in the Guineas Trial (3YO, 1400m) on Oct. 3 at Riccarton, worked together in preparation for the Armadillo Stakes (Listed, 1600m) on Oct. 24 at Riccarton. Two last start winners, Flaming (Gerard) and Madame Jamai (Ritchie) worked together.
