Te Akau track work highlights - Tuesday 20 October -

Plough:

Scrutinize (Cameron) and Xtravagant (Miller) worked together over 1200m in 1:18, 1000m in 1:02.5, last 600m in 35.5, travelling well throughout and pleasing in their gallop. Xtravagant (Pentire) is scheduled to contest the $20,000 3YO 1400 metres on Saturday at Trentham, heading south thereafter for the $400,000 NZ 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) on 7 November at Riccarton, and Scrutinize (Savabeel), the 2000 Guineas favourite ($5.00) is on target for the $70,000 Sarten Memorial (Gr. 3, 1400m) on Labour Monday, 26 October at Te Rapa.

Tatters (Hercock) worked solo over 1200m. She ran the 1000m in 1:06, last 600m in 39, going well. Tatters (Tavistock) is scheduled for the $50,000 Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Ellerslie.

Also for the Soliloquy, Duchess Kate (Hercock) and Thetruthisoutthere (Cameron) went 1200m in 1:18, last 600m in 36.2, both working very well.

Our Drahma Queen (Lammas) and Wolfwhistle (Cameron) went 1200m in 1:20, last 600m in 37.3, in good work from both. Wolfwhistle (O'Reilly) is earmarked for the Rating 85 1600 metres at Ellerslie, and the Maiden 1400 metres at Woodville.

Love Actually (Cameron) and Sir Darci (Hercock) ran 1000m in 1:02.5, last 600m in 35.4, in excellent work by both. Last start winner Love Actually (Swiss Ace) is preparing to race on Friday in the Rating 65 1400 metres at Waipa, and Sir Darci (Darci Brahma) is set to resume in the Rating 75 1150 metres at the same meeting.

Lady Pinot (Hercock) went an easy 1000m in 1:06, last 600m in 39.2, loving her work.

All-weather:

Imperium (Hercock) and Skyscraper (Lammas) ran 1000m in 1:03, both looking good. Imperium (Encosta De Lago) is being prepared for the Rating 75 2100 metres on Saturday at Ellerslie, and Skyscraper (Manhattan Rain) is scheduled for the Maiden 2100 metres on Labour Monday at Woodville.

Preparing for the $70,000 Armadillo Stakes (Listed, 1600m) on Saturday at Riccarton, last start winner Special Memories (Walsh) worked solo over 1200m. She ran the 1000m in 59, last 600m in 35.

Also for Armadillo, Risque (Walsh) worked with Vive La Difference (Ritchie), entered for the Rating 75 1800 metres on Saturday, over 1200m. They ran the 1000m in 1:00.8, last 600m in 35.5.

Contesting the Rating 75 1200 metres, last start winner Flaming (Walsh) worked solo over 1000m in 1:05 and final 600m in 36.

Newcomers to join the team at Riccarton, Opulent (Walsh) and two-year-old filly Sassy ‘N' Smart (Ritchie) prepared to race on Saturday when working together over 800m in 53.8 and last 600m in 38. Opulent (Keeper) resumes in the Rating 75 1200 metres and Sassy ‘N' Smart makes her debut in the NZB Pearl Series 2YO 880 metres.
