Fog prevented the timing of some sectionals.

Scrutinize (Cameron) and Shillelagh (K. Jones) galloped 1200m in 1:17.9. Impressive winning fresh up, Scrutinize (Savabeel) contests the Great Northern Guineas (Gr. 2, 1600m) on 1 January at Ellerslie, and unbeaten Shillelagh (Savabeel) the Rating 75 1600 metres at the same meeting.

Echezeaux (Miller) and Latin Rose (Hanafi) worked over 1200m in 1:17. Echezeaux (Encosta De Lago) is being readied for the Maiden 1600 metres on 1 January 1 at Hastings, and last start course winner Latin Rose (Mastercraftsman) returns for the Rating 65 1400 metres.

Arpeggio (K. Jones) and Chambord (Hercock) galloped 1000m in 1:04, last 600m in 36.5. On 1 January at Hastings, impressive fresh up winner Arpeggio (Tavistock) makes a return to the same venue for the Rating 75 1200 metres, while group one placed Chambord (Zabeel) comes off a lengthy break in the Open 1300 metres.

Osmunda (Lammas) and Tavis Star (K. Jones) went to the line together over 1200m in 1:18.5. Back in grade, Osmunda (O'Reilly) contests the Rating 65 1600 metres on 2 January at Tauranga. Tavis Star (Tavistock) has an entry for the Rating 75 1600 metres on 1 January at Ellerslie, and Hastings.

O'Know (Hanafi) and Special Memories (Hercock) ran 1000m in 1:02.6, both working well. O'Know (O'Reilly) is scheduled to debut in the Maiden 1200 metres at Hastings, and stakes placed Special Memories (Fastnet Rock) resumes in the Rating 75 1300 metres on 2 January at Tauranga.

Bordeaux (Cameron) and Chadsdale (Miller) ran 1200m in 1:15.7, pleasing their respective riders. In good form, Bordeaux (Zabeel) is preparing for the Special Conditions 2100 metres on 1 January at Ellerslie, and fresh up winner Chadsdale (Castledale) the Special Conditions 1400 metres at the same meeting.

Silverdale (Coleman) went 1200m in 1:15.7 ahead of the Rich Hill Mile (Gr. 2, 1600m) on 1 January at Ellerslie.
