Te Akau TV - 17/18/19th September
17 September, 2021
Welcome to a special extended edition of Te Akau TV where we cover off 6 meetings across 3 days in New Zealand and Australia - it's one of our busiest weekends to date!
Our New Zealand action kicks off at Taupo today before we jump straight into the action at the Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday at Hastings.
It is a shame that this charity meeting supported by Westbury Stud for Hawke's Bay Cancer Society is behind closed doors due to Covid restrictions so Te Akau has pledged to donate $1000 to the Hawke's Bay Cancer Society for every winner we have to support Hawkes Bay Racing and their fundraising efforts. To support the cause yourself please donate here: https://www.cancer.org.nz/donate-now/ or support their online Punters Club with guest selectors Bruce Sherwin, Butch Castles and the Boys Get Paid team betting on all races out of Hawkes Bay, as well as selected races out of Riccarton with all commission donated from placing these bets on course to the Hawke's Bay Cancer Society: https://www.tab.co.nz/punters/thoroughbred/news/saturday-tarzino-trophy-day-punters-club
This follows with a number of exciting runners kicking off Cup Week campaigns at Riccarton culminating with one runner at Te Aroha on Sunday.
Avantage, Prise De Fer and Savy Yong Blonk will fly the flag in the Tarzino Trophy and will be joined by I Wish I Win, Sophisticado and Imperatriz in their respective stakes assignments. At Riccarton both Synchronize and Irish Red will attempt to breakthrough for stakes success in the NZ Bloodstock Canterbury Belle Stakes.
Across the ditch we have NZ Oaks winner Amarelinha kicking off her spring campaign in the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap at Randwick before our attention turns to Probabeel at Caulfield as she attempts to create a weight carrying record for mares in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes. The action wraps up with 1000 Guineas winner Khama Lass kicking off her spring campaign in the final race of the card.
Good luck to all runners and connections.
Go the tangerine!
