Te Akau TV - 2000 Guineas Preview

Welcome to a special edition of Te Akau TV as we catch-up with Jamie Richards on the eve of New Zealand Cup Week.

Unfortunately crowds are limited at Riccarton this week due to COVID restrictions, but that won't prevent our team from attempting to make its mark on an important and historic day on the New Zealand racing calendar. We have two runners lining up in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai 49th New Zealand 2000 Guineas. I Wish I Win and current race favourite Noverre will attempt to add a Group One to their resume in what shapes to be an exciting race. Both of these horses were raised and grazed at Waikato Stud, with Noverre being bought by David Ellis at the Karaka Book 1 Sale.

Jamie also covers off Thursday's Matamata trials which included a record 53 Te Akau horses trialing - he outlines a couple of 2YO's that are worth keeping an eye on over the coming weeks and months.

We also provide an update on some of other horses that will be lining up in Cup Week feature races over the coming week - as well as an update on Amarelinha, Sword of State and Kahma Lass including their future plans.
