Te Akau TV 3 Venue Weekend Preview

Welcome to another edition of Te Akau TV.

There's lots to talk about this week as we are joined by Te Akau assistant trainer Sam Bergerson.

Sam covers off the week that's been including a big team of trialists at Te Awamutu on Tuesday. This included Group 1 winners Imperatriz, Maven Belle and On The Bubbles.

It was fantastic to see Prise De Fer claim his first Group One in the Captain Cook Stakes at Trentham on Saturday. The 7YO son of Savabeel x Foiled has always been such a genuine campaigner - he has been placed in 13 Black Type races including 5 Group 1's and has won 11 races. There was a lot to celebrate on Saturday for our boy who deserves his time in the spotlight! ⭐️

Sealed with a Kiss, who David Ellis bought from last year's Ready to Run sale, was also a really impressive winner on debut at Hastings on Wednesday. She is a filly with a bright future particularly as she steps up over ground in her upcoming starts.

Sam talks through the runners at Tauranga on Friday and Waikato Cup Day at Te Rapa and Eulogy Stakes' Day at Awapuni on Saturday. This includes Pin Me Up in the Group 3 J Swap Sprint, and Self Obsession and Aromatic in the Group 3 Skycity Waikato Cup. Family Ties takes her place in the Group 3 Lawnmaster Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni.

Sam got Tokyo Tycoon home for us last time and he looks to tip another winner this week. Sam has only missed on his best bet 1 out of 10 attempts so he has the team's bragging rights for now. An impressive record!

Finally a BIG Happy Birthday to team leader David Ellis CNZM who celebrates another year on Friday!

Good luck to all our runners and connections!
