Te Akau TV - G1 Weekend

Welcome back to Te Akau TV where Louis Herman-Watt & our Premiership leading trainer Jamie Richards break down each of our weekend runners.

It's Group One week which always puts a bit more energy into the atmosphere and Prise De Fer is primed and ready to give the Captain Cook Stakes at Wellington Racing Club a good shake. We'll be watching the rain radar closely over the next couple of days in the hope that the weather stays fine enough and the track doesn't get too wet.

Up at Ellerslie we have a strong team lining up throughout the day starting off with talented filly Amarelinha in R2 who has drawn out very wide but should get an excellent look around. Te Akau Caliburn will be looking to improve when he lines up over 2100, Perfect Scenario will give an honest effort in the Gr. 3 BoneCrusher Stakes and hopefully Acting & Secret Amour can finish off the day in style.

This week's Group One starts a run of very exciting summer racing that we can't wait to be involved in. Ellerslie plays host to some excellent days of racing over the New Year period and then it's all guns blazing into the Karaka Million night where we can't wait to try and defend our titles!
