Te Akau TV - Group 1 Fever
Date: 9 Sep 2022
It's Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday on Saturday and we can't wait for Group One action to return! We are also thrilled to announce Te Akau has pledged to donate $500 to the Hawke's Bay Cancer Society for every winner we have to support Hawkes Bay Racing and their fundraising efforts - something we have done in the previous years.
Hawke's Bay is forecast for showers on Saturday and the track was rated a Heavy 10 on Friday morning. There's been a number of Te Akau runners scratched as they look for better surfaces over the coming weeks.
Imperatriz will run as the short priced $1.50 favorite in the Group One Tarzino Trophy. She will be supported by Dynastic, Fellini and Lord Cosmos in Listed El Roca Sir Colin Meads Trophy and San Doute in the Group 3 HB/PB Thoroughbred Breeders Association Gold Trail Stakes.
Mark and Hamish catch-up on their chances alongside runners at Ruakaka and Waverley on Sunday.
The Te Akau team were in the thick of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the year awards on Sunday night with both human & equine talent on display. The following awards were great recognition from a fantastic team performance over the past 12 months:
- Trainer of the Year - sponsored by Dunstan - Jamie Richards

In other news, Group One winning mare and stable favourite Entrivierere was sold via Gavel House Plus on Wednesday night. Congratulations to Yulong Stud who have secured a beautiful mother to be!
Mark & Sam are currently 2/2 from their best bets and Mark will try to get another one home for the team tomorrow.
