Six of the best, that was the theme of a VERY special Boxing Day for our Premiership leading trainer Jamie RIchards. As he'll tell you though, it's a busy time of year and we must keep on rolling!

So with this in mind Louis Herman-Watt joined Jamie to preview another special day on the racing calendar, New Years day at Ellerslie.

We take another very strong team up to Auckland including three very exciting 2 year olds kicking off in R3 - Avonallo, Imperatriz & Sword Of State.

Illusion of Paris, You're Welcome, In A Twinkling, Savy Yong Blonk & Te Akau Caliburn all tackle staying assignments across the card and each have their claims for finding success.

Prise De Fer gets his chance to defend his title in the Gr. 2 Rich Hill Mile against a competitive field and Secret Amour gets her crack at capping off some consistent form in the last race of the day.

Our star mare Avantage returns in the Gr. 1 Sistema Railway where she will start close to favourite from a nice draw with Opie back on board. It's a fantastic day's racing and we're sure there'll be another great crowd gathered to enjoy the spectacle! 💥
