Te Akau TV - 'Tis The Black Type Season

As we approach the festive season with Christmas just around the corner, and the excitement builds for the Boxing Day races in 11 days, it truly feels like the crazy (not lazy or hazy) days of summer racing is here - even if the weather in New Zealand isn't playing its part right now!

Our winning momentum carried on over the past week, with our New Zealand trainers Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson hating the impressive tally of 70 wins this season, a great milestone with less than half the season complete. There's plenty of gas left in the tank, and we can't wait to unleash even more horsepower as their summer racing campaigns heat up.

The week of winning unfolded like this:Thursday at New Plymouth witnessed the victory of Stella Splendida.Friday at Riccarton celebrated wins for Valorious and Elegant Lady.Saturday at Trentham showcased the stunning triumph of Captured By Love in the Group 2 Mode Technology Wakefield Challenge Stakes. At only her second start, she left her competitors behind by three lengths in a powerful display with our stable rider Opie Bosson aboard. This daughter of Written Tycoon was bought by David Ellis CNZM at the Magic Million's January sale for our two filly partnership, she's undeniably a gifted filly you will hear more about.

Saturday night we enjoyed a Singapore double with Knippenberg and Gun saluting the Kranji judge, while Sunday at Rotorua, it was the turn of War of Succession and Rue de Rivoli to claim line honours. As we set our sights on the upcoming weekend, anticipation builds with Te Akau runners engaged across four venues – Tauranga on Friday, Te Rapa and Trentham on Saturday, and Singapore racing sees a Sunday fixture.

The Skycity Hamilton Waikato Cup at Te Rapa is one of our favourite race meetings, and the team is poised to pounce. Last-start Group 2 winner Campionessa lines up as likely favourite for the Group 2 Cal Isuzu Stakes. Romancing the Moon, Wolverine, Aris Aris and Cognito contest the Group 3 J Swap Sprint, and in the Cup, we will be cheering on Prise De Fer and Aromatic.
We have a significant team engaged at Te Rapa, keep an eye on three of our 'babies' About Last Night, Cognoscenti and Move To Strike doing battle - the first two seeking further valuable Karaka Million dollars. The much-anticipated return of stakes' winners Tokyo Tycoon and Quintessa will also attract a lot of attention.

Down the line, our attention turns to Trentham where Mazzucato, My Lips Are Sealed and Vivacious contest the Group 3 Lawnmaster Eulogy Stakes.Amidst the racing buzz, we still have shares available in just two of our Ready-To-Run horses - a Vanbrugh gelding who reminds us a lot of Wild Night, a flashy, strong chestnut.

Also our Ace High colt, a real athlete, by an exciting young sire on the rise! Stuck for a Xmas gift - we can make this happen on Christmas Day - send your special person the news they have a share in a racehorse - now that's a REAL gift, that keeps giving! Busy times continue - the team is buried in Magic Millions' catalogue study, with the sale commencing the first week of January. David will be out to snare the next Imperatriz or Captured By Love - watch him "Move To Strike"! Then it's Karaka Million's night before you know it, and the NZB National Yearling Sale the next day.

We LOVE this time of year - wishing everyone a joyous festive season!
