Te Akau TV - Weekend Preview + NEW Yearling Spotlight

Welcome to another edition of Te Akau TV.

 

This week we are joined by Te Akau Racing Manager Reece Trumper as he talks us through the team's chances at Te Rapa, New Plymouth and Wingatui.

 

Reece talks us through the week that's been including the herculean performance of Leaderboard to take out the Wellington Cup. Mark Walker has pulled a few rabbits out of the hat over the years and the story of his unique approach to training leaderboard showcases his immense knowledge and wily ability to get the best out of every horse!

 

Reece and Hamish then cover off the team's runners at Te Rapa, New Plymouth and Wingatui before Reece provides his best bet for the weekend.

 

The team has been busy buying 27 yearlings at Karaka this week and now our attention turns to finding homes for these beautiful young horses. In total David Ellis spent $6,115,000 at an average of $226,481. We have yearlings for every budget with purchases in the range of $30,000 - $1,000,000.

 

This week we have an exciting new segment for you called “Te Akau's Yearling Spotlight”. Each week we will be joined by David Ellis as he shines the light on two yearlings that were recently purchased from Magic Millions or Karaka. David will provide insight into what we liked about each of these yearlings and how they have been doing at Te Akau Stud since they arrived.

 

There's plenty of racing action to look forward to next week with races at Tauranga on Sunday, Tauherenikau on Monday and Taupo on Tuesday before we build into Legends Day at Te Rapa next Saturday.
