Te Akau TV - Welcome Back Mark
Date: 1 Apr 2022
Welcome to a special edition of Te Akau TV and this is no April Fools' joke! We are joined by new Te Akau Racing trainer Mark Walker as he takes you through our chances at both Avondale and Group One day at Awapuni.
Mark has been home for six weeks and gives us some insight into how he is acclimatising to Matamata life. His partner Mirka and daughter Skyler arrived from Singapore yesterday and Mark has been joined this week by his son Zavier for the school holidays.
Mark and Hamish talk through our yearling of the week. Lot 32 the Staphanos filly out of Ultra Explosive. She looks a serious Oaks horse with Derby winners in her pedigree including Vin De Dance and Explosive Jack. Japanese bred horses have been dominating the headlines in recent weeks including providing 5 of the 9 winners at the Dubai World Cup meeting. Get in touch with Karyn over the weekend if you are interested in taking a share: https://teakauracing.com/.../karaka-yearling-sales-2022.../
This weekend we have three runners at Avondale and nine runners at the Group One day at Awapuni. Mark talks us through each of their chances and provides you with his best bet for the weekend.
Good luck to all connections and here's wishing Mark Walker well in kicking off on a winning note!
