Te Akau Victoria Friday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Friday 14 November at Geelong (Victoria) and Pakenham (Victoria).

Geelong:

Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: out 2 metres 800m – 400m and 1800m – 1400m, remainder true. No rain forecast.

7:30 p.m. (NZ) - 5:30 p.m. (Vic) R8 2 Exuberance (4 m Savabeel – Miss Opulence) – Ryan Houston (a1.5); she sustained a big effort from well back in the field and then was forced wide, so did well for second in the Benchmark 66 1000 metres on 14 October at Ballarat, and contests the A$40,000 Benchmark 62 1107 metres. She staged a big run to place here on debut before winning her Maiden over 1200 metres, competed in Group Two and Listed races over 1400 metres last season, and certainly has the ability to be a serious top three chance - if she can bag some luck from her wide draw (11).

Pakenham:

Weather: fine, track: Heavy9, rail: out 8 metres. No rain forecast.

10:15 p.m. (NZ) - 8:15 p.m. (Vic) R5 9 Jealous (5 m Nicconi – Jujube) – Luke Cartwright (a1); she ran home strongly for third after being shuffled back in the Benchmark 62 2025 metres on 31 October at Cranbourne, also with Cartwright aboard, and contests the A$40,000 Benchmark 66 2500 metres. Three of her career wins have been up to 1800 metres, and she is racing well. She appears suited to further, and her pedigree certainly suggest that - she has first four claims in an even line up here. NZ TAB fixed odds: $9.00 & $2.90.
