Te Akau Waikato Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the seven-race programme on Sunday September 28 at Te Rapa.

As on Saturday September 27 the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 10 metres.

1.37 p.m. R2 7 Secret Whisper (6 g Align - Danewhisper) - Daniel Miller; finished fifth in deeper ground than he prefers on Sept. 14 at his hurdles debut over 2800 metres on Heavy11 footing at Rotorua. A winner of four on the flat, he has shown to jump well and better going will certainly aid his prospects in the Maiden Hurdle over 2800 metres.

3.20 p.m. R5 13 Sunset Pass (6 g Yamanin Vital - Janet's Chance) - Daniel Miller; like his stable-mate, above, was unable to make an impression on the heavy going at Rotorua, when undertaking a prep run on the flat for this jumping assignment. Having produced one of his best performances when third in a hurdle at this meeting last year, he now steps out for the first time over bigger fences in the Maiden Steeplechase 4000 metres. Not lacking for fitness, good footing and a performance to match will help determine his future in the role.
