Te Akau Waipa Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Wednesday 9 May at Waipa.
As on Tuesday 8 May the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail out 3 metres. No rain forecast.

2.09 p.m. R5 13 Fine Bouquet (3 f Burgundy - Ensorcelez) - Shafiq Rusof; ran home solidly for second on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres at Waipukurau, and did little wrong here on 11 April (Apprentice Jockey Day) in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres after being shuffled back nearing the home turn. Drawn to advantage (1) in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres, she presents as a top three chance.

2.24 p.m. R6 2 Seirios (3 g Pierro - Irish Lights) - Shafiq Rusof; followed a good trial, resuming with a solid performance for second in the Maiden 1200 metres on Anzac Day at Avondale. In the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres, he shapes to appreciate stepping in distance and appears each way material with a trip to suit from barrier nine.

4.28 p.m. R9 3 The Chaser (4 g Swiss Ace - Intelligentsia) - Michael McNab; could hardly have been more impressive when winning the Maiden 1200 metres by five lengths at Wanganui, and emulated up in grade for the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres on 20 April at Te Aroha. A hat-trick is never easy, but form cannot be denied and he warrants plenty of respect again in the $11,000 Rating 70 1150 metres.
