Te Akau Waipa Preview
22 October, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme on Friday 23 October at Waipa.
As on Thursday 22 October the conditions were: cloudy and Good2, rail true.
3.30 p.m. R6 6 Babilloni (5 g Cecconi - Babillard) - Anna Jones (a1); worked through the line encouragingly for sixth here last time in the Rating 65 1400 metres on Slow9 footing, with this rider aboard. Drawn the ace in the corresponding event, he will be improved for two runs and good footing assists.
4.05 p.m. R7 2 Sir Darci (5 g Darci Brahma - Dominant) - Matt Cameron; gave Te Akau apprentice Jasmine Fawcett her first trial win, at only her second ride, recently at Te Teko, and resumes off 132 days in the Rating 75 1150 metres. The winner of four races, with a bit of quality about him, he scored fresh up off 166 days last September in the Rating 85 1200 metres at New Plymouth. Much will depend on the trip from barrier ten and 59kgs is a decent impost but finding the line positively will see him increase in distance.
