Te Akau Waipukurau Preview
3 May, 2018
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Thursday 3 May at Waipukurau.
As on Wednesday 2 May the conditions were: overcast and Slow8, rail true. No rain forecast.
12.50 p.m. R2 7 Grand Ariana (2 f Snitzel - Enduja) - Shafiq Rusof; debuts from barrier five in the $10,000 Maiden 2YO 1200 metres. She displayed plenty of determination in tight quarters for a close third when trialling on 17 April at Waipa, following a good second in her first trial in March at Cambridge. By the Champion sire in Australia, Snitzel (Redoute's Choice), she has the right credentials to go well in a field of seven.
2.00 p.m. R4 14 Meteoric Lass (3 f Stratum - Benatar) - Shafiq Rusof; debuts from barrier four in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. She never appeared overly comfortable on heavy ground when finishing second in a trial on 17 April at Waipa, but appears versatile enough to cope with slow and her half-sister, Meteoroid (Northern Meteor), has won eight races over 1200m/1400m in Australia.
