Te Akau Waipukurau Preview
27 September, 2018
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Thursday 27 September at Waipukurau.
As on Wednesday 26 September the conditions were: overcast and Slow8, rail true. 3mls rain forecast Wednesday and the same race day.
2.02 p.m. R3 3 Fabulous Flight (4 g I Am Invincible - Court Flying) - Danielle Johnson; was a smart trial winner in March at Taupo, before finishing third on debut over 1230 metres in April at Rotorua. Subsequently spelled, he has trialled twice, fourth most recently at Avondale, and resumes from barrier four in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. A lovely type of horse with the depth of pedigree to keep improving, he appears ideally placed for a bold first up performance.
4.22 p.m. R7 4 Lady Zeraph (4 m Makfi - Zatiger) - Chelsea Burdan (a4); progressed nicely off two starts to win over a mile in April at Waipa, before spelling, with a view to improving over staying trips, and resumes in the $10,000 NZB Pearl Series Rating 65 1350 metres (eligible $11,500 bonus). At her only course attempt, she recorded a tidy third here over a mile prior to winning. Ridden in her two recent trials by Burdan, she claims to 55kgs and provides the Te Akau apprentice with her first race day ride. Both horse and rider have promising futures and should go well, with improvement to come.
