1:05 p.m. R3 3 Mazzucato (3 f Tivaci – Yellen) – Ulrika Holmquist; she quickened near the rail for third in trial on 23 January at Taupo, and resumes in the $40,000 3YO 1200 metres. She finished powerfully to win the 3YO 1400 metres on 15 November at Riccarton, before battling solidly on slow ground in the Eulogy Stakes (Gr. 3, 1600m) on 16 December at Trentham. She rates a top three chance from barrier three - one of a stable filly duo lining up in the event. Fixed odds: $7.50/$2.40.

1:05 p.m. R3 4 Tightly Laced (3 f American Pharoah – Soubrettes) – Joe Doyle; was effortless winning on debut in the Maiden 1000 metres on 12 November at Tauherenikau, and resumed with strong finish for second in the Rating 65 1050 metres on 10 January at Matamata. Drawn barrier four, she rates a top three chance in the $40,000 3YO 1200 metres. Fixed odds: $3.50/$1.45.
