Te Akau Wanganui Preview
16 February, 2017
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 17 February at Wanganui.
As on Thursday 16 February the conditions were: overcast and Dead4, rail out 5 metres. 10mls rain forecast overnight, 18mls race day morning.
1.50 p.m. R3 1 More Than Fast (4 g Fastnet Rock - Morgalicious) - Hayden Tinsley; raced very well on debut in the Maiden 1200 metres on 1 February at Hastings, angling clear off the trial and finishing solidly in tight quarters for a close second. With blinkers and a tongue tie added, again over 1200 metres, competition could come in the shape of Awakening (Per Incanto) and Petite Midas (Congrats) but he looks a good each way chance.
3.35 p.m. R6 3 Colorado Prince (3 g Alamosa - Sweet Dreams Baby) - Hayden Tinsley; won well on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres on 2 January at Tauherenikau, before a close fifth, despite over-racing on a moderate pace, in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 30 January at Te Teko. With a shadow roll added to his gear, handily drawn (4) and back on a left-handed track, the half-brother to stakes winning stable-mates Darci's Dream (Darci Brahma) and Windborne (Darci Brahma) can prove a force to be reckoned with in the Rating 65 1360 metres.
