Te Akau Wanganui Preview
26 March, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme on Thursday 26 March at Wanganui.
As on race morning the conditions were: fine and Good3, rail true.
2.03 p.m. R3 3 Hushed (4 g Don Eduardo - Danewhisper) - Cameron Lammas; did everything right in two recent trials which rendered a win and second respectively and now makes his debut from barrier four in the Maiden 1200 metres. From a family that in general performs best at a mile and more, he can take advantage of a handy gate and appears genuine enough to remain in the fight.
3.13 p.m. R5 7 Skyscraper (3 g Manhattan Rain - Grand Performance) - Cameron Lammas; got back and wide when resuming off 50-days over a mile at Te Aroha, after doing a good job for third behind a tidy performer in Viviano (Keeper) over 1560 metres at Rotorua. Up in distance to contest the Maiden 2040 metres should suit, as too returning to a left-handed course. With a senior rider aboard it is expected he can take up a handier position from barrier two, in a field of only eight, and while still quite raw he has shown enough to prove competitive.
