Te Akau Warrnambool Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Sunday 3 December at Warrnambool (Victoria).

Weather: overcast, track: Soft6, rail: true. No rain forecast.

6:10 p.m. (NZ) - 4:10 p.m. (Vic) R7 8 Rubicon Crossing (3 f Rubick – Miss Foxwood) – Billy Egan; she did well from three back on the inner to finish third in the Benchmark 70 955 metres on 17 November at Moonee Valley, and contests the A$50,000 Benchmark 70 1000 metres. She raced away to win when resuming over a 1000 metres at Mornington, was second in both the Welcome Stakes (Listed, 1000m) and Wellesley Stakes (Listed, 1100m) last season, and rates a top three chance from barrier one. NZ TAB fixed odds: $3.20 & $1.55.

6:55 p.m. (NZ) - 4:55 p.m. (Vic) R8 1 Prismatic (5 g Savabeel – Kaleidoscope) – Chris McCarthy; he made ground nicely for fifth in the New Zealand Cup (Gr. 3, 3200m) on 18 November at Riccarton, and contests the A$304,000 Jericho Cup (4600m). Certainly seasoned for such an event, he continues to race very well and is drawn (2) for an economical trip. NZ TAB fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.70.
