Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Thursday 10 April at Waverley.

3:42 p.m. R6 1 Pokuru Gold (4 g Darci Brahma – Pokuru Nugget) – Jonathan Riddell; he was steadied back from his outside gate, improved nearing home turn, and finished strongly down outside to win a trial on 3 April at Ellerslie. Resuming in the $17,000 Rating 75 1200 metres, he has recorded three wins from four starts, two coming on heavy going, and he warrants favouritism. Fixed odds: $2.60 & $1.25.

3:42 p.m. R6 2 Baronet (5 g Contributer – Alpha Dame) – Lily Sutherland (a); he ended up back and wide from barrier two, which made it difficult, in the Rating 75 1200 metres on 21 March at Pukekohe, and contests the $17,000 Rating 75 1200 metres. He was solid finishing third and fourth prior, all three wins have come on heavy ground, and he too brings the right credentials to prove competitive. Fixed odds: $3.90 & $1.45.
