Te Akau Wednesday Trackwork

Te Akau track work highlights - Thursday 11 June -

Course proper (Heavy):

Preparing to race on Saturday at Ruakaka, Opulent (Roff) and Sir Darci (Hercock) worked together at three-quarter pace over 1000 metres in 1:16.8, last 600m in 45.5. Opulent (Keeper) was beaten by a long head when resuming over 1200 metres at the last meeting there on May 20 and stepping to 1400 metres appears ideal. At the same meeting, Sir Darci (Darci Brahma) was blocked for a run in the Rating 75 1200 metres and contests the corresponding event.

Sand track:

Bettorock (Roff) and Bon Marche (Hanafi) worked together over 800m in 52.4, last 600m in 37.6.

Prince Henry (Hercock) went an easy 800m in 52.8, last 600m in 38.4.

Miss Chief (Roff) worked over an easy 1200m in 1:26.3, last 600m in 40.2.

Bordeaux (Roff) worked easily over 1000m in 1:10, last 600m in 40, preparing for the Maiden 1600 metres next Wednesday at Te Teko. Scheduled to contest the $12,000 Rating 65 Fillies & Mares 1600 metres at the same meeting, Tavis Star (Hercock) worked solo over 1200m, covering the 1000m in 1:08.5, last 600m in 39.5.

All-weather track:

Highly Likely (Roff) went 1600m at three-quarter pace. He covered the 1200m in 1:29, last 600m in 43, and eyes the $25,000 Rating 75 2100 metres on Saturday week at Tauranga.

Working against the rail at half-pace for the first time: 1 g Pins - Miss Katella (Price), Lucy Wyldstyle (Hanafi), Tiffany's Time (Roff) and 2 f Swiss Ace - Black Cat (Fawcett) all completed the task nicely.
