Ellerslie:
As on Friday 23 September the conditions were: overcast and Heavy10, rail out 9.5 metres. 10mls rain forecast 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. race day.
4.24 p.m. R7 8 Corporate Missile (3 f Smart Missile - Corporate) - Matt Cameron; ran home strongly behind subsequent winner Sweet Leader (O'Reilly) when resuming at Taupo, before winning the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on Slow9 at Matamata. Stepping up to contest the $70,000 Bonecrusher Stakes (Gr. 3, 1400m), her genuine qualities will assist if able to cop the conditions.
New Plymouth:
As on Friday 23 September the conditions were: cloudy and Slow9, rail out 4.5 metres. 4.5mls rain forecast 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. race day.
12.36 p.m. R1 4 Affinee (4 m Exceed and Excel - Household) - Michael McNab; trialled with McNab aboard on slow going at Te Teko, and resumes from barrier ten in the Rating 65 990 metres. She won off the front when debuting over 1000 metres in April at Blenheim, has natural ability and continued to develop.
Caulfield:
As on Friday 23 September the conditions were: overcast and Good3, rail true. 1ml rain forecast 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. race day.
4.15 p.m. (NZT 6.15 p.m.) R7 2 Xtravagant (4 h Pentire - Axiom) - Damien Oliver; had an inauspicious start to his campaign in the A$215,000 Bobbie Lewis Quality (Gr. 2, 1200m) at Flemington, but has continued to train well and takes his place in the $538,000 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m). Oliver has stuck with the ship and after being crowned Champion Three-Year-Old a performance in keeping with his class is sought. He is currently rated a $10 chance - Counterattack $3.40, Voodoo Lad $5.00.
