Te Akau Weekend Trackwork

Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 18 July -

Due to fog, only some times were available.

On the grass:

Stella Di Paco (Hercock - main picture right) and Prince Henry (Gomas - main picture left) preparing to line up next Saturday, worked together on the heavy grass over 1000m, both look outstanding and ready for next weekend's assignment.

On the sand:

Special Memories (Miller) and Love Triangle (Hercock) are looking in top order ahead of the new season. These 2YO fillies galloped over 800m in 54, and coming home in 38. Stephen Autridge is pleased with the work of both of these fillies.

Interstellar (Gomas) and Love Actually (Hanafi) worked together over 800m in an easy gallop. Scrutinize (Hercock) and Xtravagant (Miller), both impressive debut winners last preparation, preparing for a spring campaign galloped over 800m.  Riders Kate and Dan were very impressed with the manner of the colts work.

Vive La Difference (Price) worked over 800m solo, holding a strong gallop. Our Abbadean (Winter) worked in company with Ebony Star (Fawcett) over 800. Hushed (Hanafi) worked an easy 1000m and looks well leading into the trials at Cambridge on Tuesday and Skyscraper (Price) completed similar work.

Lady Painton (Gomas) worked in company with Duchess Kate (Hercock) with an easy gallop over 800m as they head to the Cambridge trials on Tuesday. Tatters (Winter) and 3f El Hermano - Santiga Lass (Hanafi) also look ready to trial at Cambridge, with a strong working gallop over 800m.

Capable mare Flirty Gertey (Winter) worked over 800m in an easy gallop, followed by Flaming (Hercock) doing the same work 200m behind. Thetruthisoutthere (Gomas) and Spritz (Hanafi) galloped over 800m in 55.8 and ran the last 600m in 41.8 and were followed by Princess Davone (Fawcett) who looked very strong in her gallop.

Two year old fillies Fastnet Fire (Winter) and Grazia (Hercock) worked over 800m, both looking in great order ahead of the new season. Gardenier (Price) and Forty Winks (Gomas) stretched out together over 800m in 54, running their last 600m in 39.8.

Carmenize (Winter) and Ekraarstatic (Hercock) looked impressive in their gallop over 800m, followed round by Risque (Miller). Red Poppy (Fawcett) was very settled in her work over 800m.  2g Flying Florence (Shailer) and 2g Castledale - Elianto (Ritchie) worked together over 800m in 56, last 600m in 42.

1g Charge Forward - Catbird Kitty (Fawcett) and 1g Pour Moi - Madam Stravinsky (Hanafi) worked in a relaxed gallop over 800m and the pair was followed round by 1g Darci Brahma -Spin ‘N' Grin (Price) and 1f Darci Brahma - Corsage (Winter).

Starting to increase their work load, 1f Saperavi - Primo Quest (Gomas), 1f Alamosa - Zorina (Hanafi) and 1g Darci Brahma - Obsession (Fawcett) did some ¾ pace work over 800m, all enjoying their work.

Rocksun (Miller) and Royal Success (Shailer) galloped over 800m, both rising 3YOs looking ready for the new season.

On the all-weather track:

Promosso (Winter - pictured below left) and 2f Encosta De Lago - Chasing Mammon (Hercock - pictured below right) galloped over 800m together on the all weather track, both looking strong and full of running at the line. Esprit De Corps (Ritchie) looked super in his solo gallop over 800m.
